Turkish Coffee Maker
Not sure about coffee type...?

Hi, my Mom likes coffee and my brother got her an Coffee Maker few years ago, and she didn't like it. The one she says she likes is the once made like with turkish pot. I want to get her as a present coffee maker, but I don't know which type can make the coffee she likes..So can anybody tell me which coffee maker?

Turkish coffee is about as far from "automatic" as you can get. The beans should be ground right before brewing as the grind is so fine that it will go stale quickly. I've only seen a few electric grinders that can go fine enough (what the grocery store calls "Turkish" isn't fine enough - it should feel like talcum powder) and they've always been big (for real coffee shops) and close to $1K.

The best ibriks are made of tin-lined copper or brass, but there are some that are Stainless Steel. I bought mine at a local middle-eastern market for about $9, but I see them online for $20+.

You have to slowly heat the coffee to a near-boil until it foams, then remove it from the heat until it settles, then repeat it for a total of 2-4x. There's no machine that can do this, so it is totally manual and requires constant attention.

But it's worth it.
